We started it because we kept reading the same kind of story and then watching it disappear. Google's emissions are 81% above the 2019 level it promised to cut in half. The NAACP is suing xAI over 27 gas turbines it says ran without permits in a Mississippi town. Anthropic downloaded millions of pirated books and is paying authors $1.5 billion for it. Each one made the news for a day. A week later nobody remembered it.

So we started writing them down in one place. We're not a big newsroom. We read the court filings, the regulator records and the companies' own reports, link every one so you can check us, and print what the company says back. If we get something wrong, we fix it where you can see it.

We don't want AI to go away. We want the companies building it to pay their own costs, and stop leaving them with the town next to the data center and the writer who was never asked.
